Combating signs of aging with skin care regimes and treatments is easier than ever before.
Aging has an inevitable impact on our skin. Gravity takes over and skin starts to lose elasticity, collagen production goes down, skin loses its glow. It’s the truth.
Creams, laser treatments, botox, facials—all of these treatments can help combat the signs of aging. No treatment is created alike, and it can be difficult to identify which one is truly right for you! We understand your questions and here to make it as easy as possible.
Let’s go through some of the best anti-aging procedures around. Let this serve as a “guide” to help you learn the different treatments and see what you may benefit from.
Photofacials
An IPL photofacial, or photorejuvenation, is a great way to get a glow back to your skin. With safe and non-invasive treatment, patients will have no downtime and can return to regular activities immediately after the procedure. IPL uses light and intense laser to treat anything from pigment issues and wrinkles. The bright light passes through the epidermis of the skin and draws out the pigment and uneven surfaces on the targeted area. The great thing about the laser that is used for a photofacial is that it can be used on the body as well, which can help with signs of aging, not on the face.
Sublime Skin Tightening
Sublime is the most advanced technology in skin tightening and is a non-invasive procedure used to treat skin imperfections due to skin laxity. Sublime Skin Tightening with Syneron Candela’s Elos Plus technology combines both bipolar RF energy and deep infrared heat to target the dermis layer of the skin. The controlled deep dermal heating shortens aged collagen fibres and leads to the production of new collagen fibres. Collagen is the structural protein found in skin that holds connective tissue together. As we age, collagen production slows leading to sagging or tired looking skin. Hence using this treatment actually helps bring back that tighter and youthful skin appearance. If skin laxity is your concern, this is a great treatment.
Sublative Skin Resurfacing
Sublative Skin Resurfacing is a non-invasive skin treatment that works to stimulate the body’s natural collagen production. The Elos Plus system from Syneron Candela is used at Enlighten Laser and is used to administer our Sublative skin resurfacing treatments. Using only the power of fractionated bi-polar radio frequency (RF), Sublative technology reaches deep into the dermis and encourages the production of collagen and elastin—essentially resurfacing the skin from the inside out. Sublative skin resurfacing is a great tool for things such as pigmentation, brown or age spots, dealing with textural changes in the skin and more.
Botox Or Cosmetic Fillers
Botox is one of the most popular treatments that is used to treat fine lines, wrinkles, and signs of aging on one’s skin. Botox works by temporarily blocking the muscles that cause wrinkles. The effects of Botox typically last three to six months, and then the injection starts to wear off, so coming in for touch-ups is needed after that time. However, Botox will not plump areas of the face or lips, that is done by fillers, such as Juvederm. One should only trust their injections to a trained and certified cosmetic dermatologist, a doctor only. Which is all Enlighten uses.
