Diminish unwanted birthmarks with advanced IPL photorejuvenation treatments at Enlighten Laser and Skin Care Clinics.

A birthmark may be a cute spot commemorating the day you were born or key identifier; however, this isn’t always the case. There are often times where a birthmark may be a distraction from who you are.

If an unwanted birthmark rings true to you, then it probably is safe to assume that you have wished you could have it removed—at least once or twice in your life. We say “wished” assuming you may think that removing a birthmark means needing surgery, significant downtime, or enduring a lot of pain.

This is not the case, not with the advanced IPL Photorejuvenation technology available at Enlighten Laser and Skin Care Clinics.

IPL photorejuvenation is makes it possible to diminish the appearance of sunspots, age spots, pigmentation, scars and yes,  birthmarks!

What is IPL Photorejuvenation?

Photorejuvenation or IPL Photofacial is a procedure where intense pulse light (IPL) is used to improve a variety of skin imperfections and benign conditions. It is a safe and non-invasive procedure that can be tailored to your unique skin type and the specific skin condition to provide superior cosmetic results and therefore, outstanding satisfaction.

In other words, IPL photorejuvenation is a laser light treatment. This laser light specifically targets pigmented issues, such as birthmarks, without impacting the surrounding skin. The light passes through the surface layers of the skin, draws out the pigment producing cells or cells where pigmented lesions have occured and disperses the unwanted pigmentation.

What Should I Expect During an IPL Photorejuvenation Treatment?

After your initial consultation with our laser technician, a cooling gel is applied to the treatment area and glasses will be provided to protect your eyes.

The smooth glass surface of the laser head will gently glide over your skin while pulses of light target your unwanted pigmentation. At most, you may feel a slight sting, like snapping of a small rubber band.

There is no downtime; therefore, you may resume your normal activities immediately after the treatment. An aftercare program will be provided to you prior to leaving the clinic to ensure the best possible results. For example, direct exposure to the sunlight must be avoided for two weeks post-treatment.
